Aaron Ramsey delights BBC pundit as Aston Villa injury news for Premier League match against Tottenham emerges

Alan Hutton, a former Aston Villa full-back, has joined us as an exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll share his thoughts on the hot topics at Villa Park…

Alan Hutton is eager for Jacob Ramsey to return to the Aston Villa squad, but he admits the attacker will have to fight his way into Unai Emery’s starting lineup.

Ramsey, 22, has only appeared three times for the Villans this season due to injury problems that began in the summer while he was on international duty with England’s Under-21s.

The Birmingham-born sensation, on the other hand, is on the mend, and BirminghamLive reports that he could return from his injury woes after the international break against Tottenham on November 26.

Ramsey was in excellent form last season, but despite missing the majority of the action this season, Emery’s men have done admirably without him.

They currently sit fifth in the Premier League, just three points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Hutton admits that, while Ramsey’s return will be welcome, the youngster will not be guaranteed a place in Emery’s starting lineup.

“He’s been outstanding, ever since Gerrard was at the club and he brought him in and brought him to the next level,” Hutton said in an interview with Villa News.

“I believe he was unlucky. He went away with England in the summer and suffered a serious injury that has obviously hampered him greatly.

“You have to feel sorry for him because he missed pre-season and now you’re catching up.”

“It’s been a difficult season, but there’s no denying what he brings: goals, assists, and energy.”

“Right now, his biggest challenge is re-entering the team.”

“This team is now settled, particularly in the midfield and forward areas.” It will be difficult for him, but he is certainly capable of doing so.”
