Coventry manager Mark Robins has stated that he will not second-guess Joe Edwards ahead of the new Millwall manager’s first game at The Den.
The 37-year-old former Everton assistant manager, who took over for Gary Rowett after he left by mutual consent, won his first game in charge of the Lions 4-0 at Sheffield Wednesday.
Coventry reached the play-off final last season but are now 20th and winless in their last five league games.
“He’s a really good coach and has been coaching for a long time,” Robins told reporters.
“As we all know, he has coached at a high level, and listening to him speak, he speaks really well – he’s got clear thoughts about identity and what he wants to do and how he wants to achieve it and how he’s going to go about it.”
“He’s pragmatic and sensible in the way he knows his level and the players he has.”
“It may take some time, but ultimately, it comes down to us and what we can do – you can’t second guess.”
“They might do something in a certain way that could be changed.
“They have people at their disposal they can use.” It just depends on what they’ve seen – they’ll have worked for this as well during this time.
“It’ll be an interesting game, but again, it’s one that we can look forward to and hopefully like I say, we can have another good performance which results in some points.”
