Tottenham Hotspur will look to get back on track against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon in North London.

Spurs have dropped to fourth place following recent losses, while the Lions are a point behind them in fifth.

Match Prediction
After taking over as manager of Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, Ange Postecoglou completely transformed the atmosphere at the club.

The Australian manager led his team to an excellent start, defeating Manchester United and Liverpool to stay atop the table for several weeks.

Chelsea, however, brought the Londoners back down to earth with a 4-1 defeat.

Postecoglou’s men played well but were dealt a major blow when Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were both sent off. The visitors won 4-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Nicolas Jackson.

To compound their woes, the Lilywhites suffered yet another defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Spurs were on course for a comfortable victory after leading 1-0 until stoppage time.

However, a late twist saw Pablo Sarabia and Mario Lemina score to give the Wanderers a thrilling 2-1 victory.

Aston Villa, on the other hand, went into the international break on a high note after defeating Fulham 3-1.

Unai Emery’s men avenged a 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest earlier this month at Villa Park.

The Lions cruised past the Cottagers thanks to an own-goal from Antonee Robinson and goals from John McGinn and Ollie Watkins in each half.

After finishing seventh last season, they are now on track for another successful top-flight campaign.

Emery’s team is currently fifth in the Premier League table, having won eight of their last twelve games.

Team Updates
Tottenham’s James Maddison is unlikely to return before the new year. Micky van de Ven, his teammate, will also miss the rest of the year due to a severe hamstring injury. Meanwhile, Richarlison, Ryan Sessegnon, Alfie Whiteman, Ivan Perisic, and Manor Solomon are all injured.

Tyrone Mings and Emiliano Buendia remain out of action for Aston Villa due to knee injuries. Jacob Ramsey, on the other hand, could return to the matchday squad after demonstrating good recovery.

Aston Villa versus Tottenham Hotspur Possible Lineups

Prediction for Tottenham Hotspur vs. Aston Villa
We would have backed Tottenham to win a few weeks ago, but things have recently changed for Postecoglou’s men, who suffered back-to-back defeats before the international break.

Villa returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Fulham, and while a good result in North London will be difficult, we believe Emery’s team will prevail in the end.
