Tua Tagovailoa’s right arm gash required sutures to close.

When discussing the nasty cut he received during the Miami Dolphins’ Black Friday game against the New York Jets, Tua Tagovailoa was lighthearted on Wednesday.

Tua, sporting a long-sleeved hoodie, revealed that he had stitches to close the wound he received during a scramble at the conclusion of the first quarter of the 34-13 triumph at MetLife Stadium.

Tua declared, “It’s good.” “My spouse told me. Although she didn’t see it, she later received texts from people while they were eating their Thanksgiving leftovers about how disgusting it looked. I’m sorry, I was unable to assist you there (laughs).

“Until I got to the sidelines and Mike White kind of pointed it out, I had no idea it had happened. I assume it was merely the adrenaline. That chunk that came off was nice. It’s yours if someone can locate that piece. (laughing)

Tua stated that it appeared to be a difficult procedure, but he was unsure of the number of stitches he received.

When asked if he intended to have the full-length tattoo on his right arm redone, Tua responded with another joke.

Tua remarked, “I think (son Ace) will grow up with a great story.” “After saving three people in the water, I was bitten by a shark. I killed a 500-pound shark (laughing).

PHILLIPS: CHUBB CHECKING IN
The storyline of the most recent episode of “Hard Knocks” revolved around Jaelan Phillips’ Achilles injury, but it also highlighted Phillips’ close bond with fellow outside linebacker Bradley Chubb.

Since Chubb’s trade with the Denver Broncos in November of last year, the two have grown close. Chubb said it was unusual to practice on Wednesday without his bookend buddy.

Yes, it was definitely strange, Chubb admitted. “But now, it’s the new standard. That’s what he would want us to do, so we just need to keep going forward. Play hard and implement all the things we discussed during the off-season. I’m going to keep doing what’s best for this team every single day, and I have no doubt that he will stop at nothing to get back.

Since Friday’s injury, Chubb claimed he has been in constant communication with Phillips in an effort to lift his spirits.

“It’s one of those things where I try to uplift him every chance I get,” Chubb stated. “We communicate frequently. Anyhow, that’s my boy. It’s not so much a serious topic as it’s a conversation starter. Not right away, but a few days later, he said to himself, “Man, I’m going to be good.” All I need is for you all to support me. Thus, it’s not so much a “Hey man, everything will work out.”Let’s have a more casual conversation and try to make him feel as normal as possible because, at the end of the day, going through rehab is a difficult process. You can also become very critical of yourself and other things if you feel like everything is out of balance. Thus, keeping him inspired is my responsibility as well as everyone else’s.
