After Aston Villa’s 0% performance against Bournemouth, Unai Emery had to substitute Nicolo Zaniolo at halftime.

Nicolo Zaniolo has put on yet another awful display while wearing the colors of Aston Villa, and Unai Emery needs to take him off at halftime to end any doubts about this match.

The Italian, who joined on loan from Galatasaray during the summer transfer window, has once again looked terrible on the South Coast after failing to make an impression in the Midlands.

Due to a mistake made by Diego Carlos, Villa fell behind 1-0 early on. However, Leon Bailey’s team came back to even the score at halftime, with minimal assistance from Zaniolo.

Fans of Villa have been greatly disappointed by Zaniolo’s numerous starts despite his constantly lackluster play. He contributes very little defensively and very little offensively, with his lone tackle being the game’s only defensive play.

Despite being in the starting with Ollie Watkins, the Italian wasted a fantastic opportunity early in the game when he smacked his shot over the bar to put Villa behind. He did not provide a threat for the remainder of the game.

He has struggled to contribute to the team moving forward, winning just two of his eight attempted ground duels and none of his aerial duels. He also has a 0% dribble completion percentage.

Villa might as well be playing with ten men after he gave the ball away ten times more than he completed passes. If he commits another foolish foul, they could end up playing with just three players.

If Emery decides to make changes, he has a lot of options because Zaniolo’s patience is running out. Jhon Duran and Moussa Diaby are also waiting in the wings.

Emery may want to bench Zaniolo in favor of a more productive and in-form teammate who is waiting for a call from the bench if he wants to see his club accomplish a comeback victory.
