Several media sources began releasing images of their 2023 college football All-America team following the season. Numerous Michigan football players appeared on the lists published by CBS Sports, USA TODAY, and Sports Illustrated.
Two Wolverines were included in The Athletic’s All-America squad, which was made public.
Zak Zinter and Will Johnson were both named to the All-American team, according to The Athletic.
Zinter has so far been named a first-team All-American by each of the four outlets. He led the Michigan offensive line to another possible Joe Moore Award winner, and his play on the field was undoubtedly noticed. Although Zinter’s season was cut short against Ohio State, he still made the decision to return to Michigan for his senior year, and at the next level, he has the potential to be a very good guard in the NFL.
The Athletic lists Johnson as a second-team All-American. If the sophomore cornerback were eligible to enter the NFL draft, most draft experts think he would be selected in the first round this year because of his impressive performance while attending Michigan. Fortunately, though, Johnson will be returning to Michigan for at least one more season in 2024.
