In 2024, Thomas Mikaele will play for the North Queensland Cowboys.
The prop forward, who played for the North Queensland Cowboys with two stints in 2023, has made 14 appearances.
Mikaele and the Cowboys reached an agreement on a one-year Development List deal, and he began practicing with his new teammates Wednesday.
Cowboys General Manager of Football Michael Luck stated, “We’re fortunate to have the opportunity to secure a player of Tom’s calibre and experience this late in the pre-season.”
“We think Tom, a powerfully built middle forward, can have a big impact for us at the NRL level and add depth to our squad.”
Midway through the 2022 season, Mikaele moved to Warrington in the Super League after playing 66 NRL games for the Wests Tigers. He made 11 appearances to help the team avoid relegation.
After scoring three tries in seven games during The Wire’s brilliant 2023 season debut, he left for family reasons and rejoined the Gold Coast Titans in Australia.
He was granted permission to rejoin Warrington on a temporary basis until the conclusion of the season, and he went on to make seven more first-grade appearances.
