A three-year contract has been struck by Birmingham City, meaning that their first team will continue to train at Henley.

The Championship team moved into the former Wasps Rugby Football Club building, which is now known as Birmingham City Elite Performance and Innovation Centre, after a fire at its Wast Hills Training Ground on 3 March.

The club rebranded the 13-acre Henley property during the off-season and spent £750,000 modernising the facilities to accommodate professional football players.

“Improvements are ongoing, and to complete a £1.25 million pitch investment, a second grass playing surface, supporting already installed custodian and activation areas, is scheduled to replace the 3G plus surface by the end of December,” the club added.
