In an attempt to get English left-back Archie Brown—who recently declared he believes he can be the best left-sided defender in the world—Leeds United is considering raiding Belgian team Gent.

The 21-year-old has already started an intriguing career, having left Derby without participating in a single senior game in 2021. He travelled to Switzerland to perform for Lausanne, where he made an impression throughout his two years.

He was rewarded with a transfer to Gent, a Conference League team in Belgium. Since then, he has played 18 times this term as a star for Gent. Even at the age of 21, the talent from Birmingham is shown a lot of promise.

That has garnered attention as well. Burnley, Leeds, and Everton are among the Premier League teams monitoring the defender. One problem is that teams won’t be able to sign Brown until the end of the current campaign.

FIFA prohibits a player from playing for three different clubs in a single campaign, and he has already appeared for two clubs this season—Lausanne and Gent. He is allowed to depart Gent in the summer.

According to Voetbal Primeur, Brown expressed confidence in his ability to become the world’s finest left-back and feels he is capable of doing so after moving to Gent in the summer.

“I am not even close to being done. However, my goal is to become the world’s greatest left-back. I possess the physical attributes. Nothing can stop me if my obsession with growing my religion remains the same.

Archie Brown, a target for Leeds, believes he can dominate the globe.
Well, he definitely doesn’t lack confidence. He still has a lot of time ahead of him at age 21. He’s also right when it comes to his physical characteristics. Swift, but tall as well—nearly six feet three inches.

Naturally, Leeds requires a left-back. Junior Firpo and the exit door are still connected. Sam Byram and Stuart Dallas’ contracts expire in June of next year. Brown may make a fantastic addition to Elland Road.
