6,033 seats have been allotted to Ryan Lowe’s team for the third-round match, which will mark Preston’s first trip to the Blues in more than 20 years. Tickets for the Shed End of the Bridge go on sale Monday morning at 9 a.m. and cost £32 for adults and £16 for seniors (65 and over) and kids (under 20).
Priority placement at the head of the queue has been allocated to Founder Member Ambassadors. Additional windows of opportunity will be open to fans with 280+ loyalty points (starting Tuesday, December 19), season ticket card holders (starting Wednesday, December 20), supporters with 10+ loyalty points (starting Friday, December 22) and individuals who have previously purchased North End tickets (starting Wednesday, December 27). But many supporters are deciding against making the trip to the capital in the new year due to the cost of a coach ticket.
Travel costs £42 for ambassadors and £44 for non-ambassadors, according to the club website. This is true even though the Lilywhites have insisted that “pricing for this fixture is at cost to make the journey as affordable as possible for fans.” However, the increase in price for the trip to Chelsea is becoming too much for some, as future games at Swansea and Sunderland will cost coach attendees £31-33 and £18–£20, respectively.
Coach fares for Preston’s most recent match in London, a 2-0 loss to Millwall in April, were £28 and £30, respectively, to supporters. The cost of coach transport for the 3-1 victory at Huddersfield on Tuesday night was £13 for ambassadors and £15 for non-ambassadors.
