The Miami Dolphins were chosen for an in-season episode of HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks,’ but the decision did not appear to please the team’s star cornerback Xavien Howard.

When asked about the Miami Dolphins being chosen for the upcoming ‘Hard Knocks’ documentary, Miami Dolphins star Xavien Howard did not hide his true feelings.

Starting with the NFL Week 9 game against the Kansas City Chiefs on November 5, the popular HBO docuseries will film the Dolphins during the regular season. The Dolphins were confirmed last week to be the subject of an in-season documentary that will air later this year – an exact release date has yet to be confirmed.

‘Hard Knocks’ featured the New York Jets during the preseason, with a focus on quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ recent arrival. Starting this Sunday, the next installment of the series will focus on Mike McDaniel’s team.

Some Dolphins players, however, are unhappy with the decision to install ‘Hard Knocks’ cameras in the locker room. Howard, a Miami cornerback, expressed his displeasure with the announcement.

“‘Hard Knocks’ is b*******, especially during the season,” Howard said, as reported by The Palm Beach Post. “No, I’m not kidding. “I’m not a big fan.”

“I feel like being around cameras and stuff like that — I feel like we’ve got to do better,” Howard added. We must defeat teams with a winning record. So I feel like we need to put in work before we get all of the little fame that’s coming our way right now.”

McDaniel was asked about the Dolphins being the subject of HBO’s in-season docuseries, which was announced last week. The Dolphins’ head coach admitted he understood NFL Films and HBO’s decision to select the team for the series, and he explained the benefits it could bring to the team.

“I wouldn’t call it a team decision; I try not to worry about things we can’t control,” McDaniel said on October 23, according to ESPN. “I see some positives with this particular team, just knowing that there are a lot of things that people are curious about when we do have success on the field.”
