Eddie Howe insists that his Newcastle team is a ‘high-energy, high-intensity’ team that ‘wants to keep the ball in play,’ and that some sections of the media have ‘falsely reported’ on our game-plan.

Last season, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag described us as a ‘annoying’ side that likes to waste time and slow down the game. Howe has previously denied these allegations, but he was asked about our style of play again ahead of tonight’s trip to Old Trafford.

In response to previous reports calling our game management into question and ten Hag’s dig earlier this year, Howe’s message is clear: “If you watched us play, you’d see a different style than the one that was painted.”

Watch what he says below, where he insists there has been some false reporting from certain sections of the media and a narrative that will soon be torn apart if these critics watch you in action:

“If they want a fast game, let’s ******* give it to them,” Eddie Howe said in the Amazon documentary before we blew Man United away at St James’ Park.

EzoicThat night on Tyneside silenced ten Hag and his petty remarks, and Howe has defended his tactics and approach to games here. Let’s hope we get one over them again tonight after the disappointment of the cup final.
