Wednesday will face the Sky Blues for the fourth time in 2023/24, having lost their first two meetings before a late Djeidi Gassama goal at Hillsborough last month forced a replay for a place in the fifth round.

Priorities may have moved for Wednesday after the crushing defeat to Huddersfield Town dashed their survival chances, and Danny Röhl may now elect to rest players in midweek ahead of the vital game against Birmingham City on Friday night.

This might lead to Gui Siqueira’s full debut after previously coming off the bench, as well as a path back in for players who have recently fallen out of favour.

If Röhl goes young,

inevitability Cameron Dawson’s injury and James Beadle’s cup-tied status, this is almost an inevitability. He performed well in his debut and will be looking forward to this one.

He’s been with the seniors for a while now, having pleased Röhl at the youth level, and it’s possible that now is the time for him to make his first start after sitting out.

It could have been a nice game to give Kristian Pedersen more minutes, but he’s cup-tied. Ihiekwe’s presence might be significant

He’s been out of the lineup for a while, but with the plan to rest others, Bambo may be called up.
