FEBRUARY 7 DALLAS BLOCKS! Joe Whitt Jr. will join Dan Quinn in Washington as the Commanders’ new defensive coordinator, and the Cowboys cannot stop him because it is a promotion.
However, Quinn wants to interview Dallas assistant Lunda Wells, the tight ends coach, and the Cowboys have denied the Commanders’ request, preventing the move.
According to the story, the Commanders wanted to speak with Wells about coaching their offensive line, where he also has experience.
Inside The Star, Wells is credited with assisting in the development of Dallas’ tight ends, most recently first-time Pro Bowler Jake Ferguson.

FEBRUARY 1: ZIMMER IN? Dan Quinn is taking over as head coach in Washington, and strong candidates are vying for the defensive coordinator position he will leave behind in Dallas.

Zimmer, 67, has a history that indicates he can manage any defense, knows the Cowboys’ ‘experience’ from his time as a top aide here, understands today’s college game (from working with Deion Sanders), and has, of course, been a head coach.
The Star frequently discusses Zimmer’s experience as a head coach. If Joe Whitt sticks with Quinn, a replacement might be Al Harris or Aden Durde, both of whom would be rookie coordinators in head coach Mike McCarthy’s final season.

But what about Ron Rivera (who CowboysSI.com initially reported would be interviewing with Dallas), Mike Vrabel, Brandon Staley, and, for fun, Bill Belichick?
JAN 28 AB IN THE BIG D. Antonio Brown has already stated that he hopes to return to the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys. That will never happen, for a variety of reasons, many of which are behavioral in nature.

But what if AB wants to come to Big D to “perform?” “The 5 A.M. Theater” has provided him with a (NSFW) stage on which to perform.

So, without further ado, here’s AB “singing” something called “Get Your S*** On!”… complete with half-naked twerking girls, no actual words, and no genuine talent. Enjoy!

JAN 25 DURDE IN DEMAND. Aden Durde, a British-born Dallas Cowboys assistant, is suddenly in demand.

ESPN reports that Green Bay, the Rams, and Atlanta are requesting permission to speak with the Cowboys defensive line coach.

Durde is 44. He has been with Dallas since 2021 and serves as Dan Quinn’s trusted lieutenant. There is speculation that if Quinn is hired as head coach in either Seattle or Washington, Durde could be his choice for defensive coordinator. The Cowboys undoubtedly value Durde in the same way.
