The Kansas City Chiefs have completed their last roster movement ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl LVII meeting against the San Francisco 49ers, the team announced on Saturday via its official X account.

Kansas City has decided to activate running back Jerick McKinnon from the Reserve/injury (injury reserve) list. McKinnon allegedly underwent sports hernia surgery in early January, putting his availability into question. He was placed on Reserve/Injured on December 24 and scheduled to return on February 3.

Left guard Joe Thuney (who had been declared out of the game on Friday’s final injury report) was moved to the Reserve/Injured list to make room for McKinnon. Thuney’s replacement, Nick Allegretti, is scheduled to start again.

Finally, Mike Pennel, a defensive tackle on the Chiefs’ practice squad, has been promoted to the game roster. He has now been selected for all four postseason games.
