oKX, a cryptocurrency trading platform, has named McLaren Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo as its new brand ambassador in a “significant multiyear collaboration.”
It solidifies OKX’s partnership with McLaren, which was announced earlier this month as the official major partner of the McLaren F1 team and McLaren Shadow e-sports team.
The partnership will involve a global campaign led by Ricciardo to educate fans about bitcoin trading, as well as a collaboration with designers from underrepresented communities to develop a special-edition racing helmet to be worn during races.
OKX promises to provide Ricciardo fans “an intimate look into his crypto trading adventure, with the opportunity to get to know him away from the racetracksigining.”
The sponsorship will be seen for the first time during this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix, with OKX logo visible on Ricciardo’s racing cap.

OKX has 20 million members, including Ricciardo, across over 180 worldwide markets, and allows them to trade prominent digital assets like as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether. The company claims it is seeing remarkable growth: trading volume on the platform surged by more than 700% in 2021, while the number of trades performed increased by 480%.
Ricciardo is one of the most popular drivers in the current generation, having completed his 11th season in Formula One and his second year at McLaren Racing. He endeared himself to fans through the Netflix documentary Drive to Survive, which took viewers behind the scenes of the sport. Ricciardo was born in Australia in 1989 and has previously raced for Red Bull, Renault, and Toro Rosso.
