Latest health scare forces Brighton loan defender to miss Rangers clash

Odel Offiah, a Brighton defender on loan at Hearts, is said to have had another health scare.

The Albion man joined Hearts on a season-long loan last summer and made a promising start north of the border, scoring on his home debut against Partick Thistle in the Viaplay Cup.

However, in September, while training for the Jambos, he became ill and was forced to return to Brighton for medical attention. Offiah, 21, was given the all-clear and returned to Hearts, but has only appeared four times since.

Offiah was reported to have missed Rangers’ 3-1 loss last Saturday at Hampden Park due to a second health scare on the training ground.

According to www.dailyrecord.co.uk: “He was forced to miss out after being taken ill at the club’s Riccarton training ground towards the end of last week, ruling him out of the crunch clash at the national stadium.”

According to the Edinburgh Evening News, “Offiah was taken off the training ground while preparations for the semi-final were underway, with tests being taken to mend his situation before being given the all-clear.”

Fortunately, the Albion player traveled to Hampden and cheered on his teammates from the stands during the 3-1 defeat.
