The Washington Commanders have been among the most active in free agency, signing Tyler Biadasz, Frankie Luvu, Dorance Armstrong, Nick Allegretti, Zach Ertz, and Marcus Mariota.

They also entered the turbulent running back market, signing Chargers veteran Austin Ekeler to a two-year, $11 million contract to partner with Brian Robinson.

Their new rushing back released a heartwarming statement on X about what Commanders fans should expect from their new running back.

“New city, same mindset.” I climbed the stairs to get here. I wouldn’t want it any other way. “I’m looking forward to year eight,” Ekeler stated.

Washington had the NFL’s sixth-worst running attack in 2023, averaging only 93.6 yards per game.

The club has had only seven 100-yard running efforts in the last five years, with none in 2023.
