The 49ers bid farewell to Arik Armstead on Wednesday, but they were able to secure the return of another defensive lineman.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter says that Kevin Givens will stay with the organization. Givens and the Niners have agreed on a one-year contract.

Givens joined the 49ers after going undrafted out of Penn State in 2019, and he has been a regular in the lineup for the past four seasons. Last season, he played in all 16 games and recorded 22 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery. He made a few tackles throughout the team’s playoff run.

In addition to releasing Armstead, the 49ers have let Javon Kinlaw go to join the Jets. They have signed.

Jordan Elliott traded for Maliek Collins and brought Givens back to the defensive line.
