The columnist doesn’t mince words when discussing who should take the fall

for the Lions’ loss of a 17-point lead in the NFC title game during his monthly

chat with host Michael Rand. Talk about TwinsFest, the Wild, and the Wolves.

Columnist Patrick Reusse from the Star Tribune joins presenter Michael Rand

in reviewing the sports events of the previous weekend. The main topic of

discussion and a long-lasting debate will be whether head coach Dan Campbell

and the Lions made a mistake by being overly aggressive on fourth down

attempts, which helped San Francisco pull off a victory in Sunday’s NFC

championship game. To put it simply, Reusse says it all: Campbell was a fool.

Following yet another disappointing loss to the Spurs, there is new cause for

concern over the Timberwolves. Is there a lull in the recent slippage against

inferior teams, or is this the beginning of a second-half collapse?

In the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday, the Minnesota Twins

defeated the Detroit Tigers 4-1 thanks to home runs from Edouard Julien and

Willi Castro.

The Miami Marlins won their first game at home this season on Saturday,

defeating the Atlanta Braves 5-1 thanks to a home run by Josh Bell and six

innings of one-run relief from Max Meyer.

With their first home win of the season, the Boston Red Sox defeated the Los

Angeles Angels 7-2 on Saturday, thanks to a deep two-run home run by

Triston Casas in a four-run first inning. The victory also solved the team’s

defensive woes for the entire season.
