For weeks, Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

The 27-year-old midfielder is expected to leave the Spanish club in the coming months in order to play first-team football on a regular basis.

According to Fichajes, Aston Villa are now determined to sign the player in the coming months and are willing to make an offer of around €30 million for the Spanish international.

Ceballos has previously played under Unai Emery while on loan at Arsenal. The chance to work with the Spanish manager again could be appealing to the player.

The Aston Villa manager clearly rates him highly, and Ceballos could see plenty of playing time if he joins the West Midlands club. Aston Villa’s midfield needs to be strengthened in terms of technical ability and depth. Summer commitment Youri Tielemans has not been at his best, and the West Midlands club requires more options.

Ceballos has previously played in the Premier League and should be able to adjust quickly.

Aston Villa are currently in the UEFA Europa Conference League and have the talent to compete for Europa League qualification this season. The prospect of playing regularly for them is likely to be appealing to the player.

It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa and Real Madrid can agree on a reasonable fee in the coming months.
