Jhon Duran, of Aston Villa, is apparently ‘in a conflict’ with the club following some strange social media behaviour after he was left out of the 4-1 win over West Ham on Sunday.

Duran joined Villa for £15 million from Chicago Fire in January, but is yet to appear in a Premier League game under Unai Emery, owing in large part to the exceptional form of Ollie Watkins.

Despite playing only 67 minutes this season, the 19-year-old has managed two Premier League goals, including a magnificent volley against Crystal Palace.

He’s appeared as a substitute in six of Villa’s nine games this season, but was left out of the matchday squad against West Ham, and it appears he wasn’t pleased.

The adolescent acknowledged on social media that his absence was not due to injury before removing all Aston Villa-related photos from his account.

Then, in order to leave no mistake about his disobedience, Duran shared photographs of former basketball player and notorious rebel Dennis Rodman.

“We played a lot of other matches like today and won in the first 20 minutes or so.” We told ourselves at halftime to keep going and controlling the game the way we were. They have a great squad and players, and they made the transition and scored the goal. It was a terrible time at the time.

“Jhon Duran is young, but he has promise.” We must work with him, giving him opportunities and minutes to gain confidence and experience. Every minute he plays is vital for him, and he helps us, as seen by the goal he scored tonight.”
