The Newcastle Knights are reportedly fearing a future without Kalyn Ponga after the gun fullback’s father met a Roosters official at a Sydney hotel recently.
Kalyn’s father Andre met Roosters recruitment manager Clint Zammit as part of a regular catch-up at the Pullman Hotel a fortnight ago, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Zammit formerly worked for the Nights and was part of the negotiations that saw Kalyn extend his contract with the club until the end of 2027, back in 2022.
He remains a close friend of the family and has since joined the Roosters.
