José Mourinho was sent off following Roma’s thrilling 1-0 Serie A victory against Monza, and was observed making a ‘weeping’ motion at the opposition’s bench.

However, Mourinho stated after the game that he “didn’t know why” he was issued a red card. “I only made a gesture to the bench, not a single word,” Mourinho stated, according to Reuters.

The experienced head coach is known for his on-field antics, sometimes contentious, and Sunday was no exception as his team scored a late victory.

As the game was approaching a 0-0 tie, Roma attacker Stephan El Shaarawy scored the game-winning goal against 10-man Monza at the Stadio Olimpico.

Mourinho will be unavailable for Roma’s next match against old club Inter Milan. From 2008 to 2010, the 60-year-old was in command of Inter Milan, winning two league titles and the famous Champions League.
