The latest Nottingham Forest transfer news includes an explanation of AC Milan loanee Divock Origi’s position with the Reds.
Divock Origi’s quiet start to life at Nottingham Forest has been seen as a “big problem” for parent club AC Milan.
The 28-year-old is sidelined with a hip injury that will keep him out for “a good few weeks,” according to head coach Steve Cooper. However, he had been labouring for some minutes before to the injury.
Origi has made four appearances for the Reds since his deadline-day switch to the City Ground, but has yet to score. All of those outings have come off the bench, and he has struggled to make an impression.
He is set to spend the season on loan at Trentside, with Forest having the option to make the deal permanent. However, it appears that Milan are already evaluating whether Cooper’s side will take that up.
The Reds would pay 4.5 million euros (£3.9 million) for Origi, according to Italian media site Calciomercato. However, they believe Forest will spend the money, leaving Milan with a “huge problem.”
Origi has a contract with the Serie A club until 2026. His contract is estimated to be around 4 million euros (£3.4 million) each season.
