Arteta, who is currently in charge of Arsenal, played over 200 games for the Merseyside club during his playing career.

“I had a really personal and strong relationship with Bill,” Arteta said, according to the official Everton website (October 24). “I can’t thank him enough for how he treated me, the advice he always gave me, and how close he and his family were to me.”

“I know he has been through a lot in the past few years and his passing is a big loss for Everton and for me personally as well.”

Kenwright clearly meant a lot to a lot of people, both inside and outside of Everton, with tributes pouring in for the club’s former chairman. He has undoubtedly left a lasting impression on the Toffees and will be missed by many in the years to come.
