Sunderland return to the Stadium of Light this Saturday when they host Norwich City.

After three straight league defeats, the Lads will be looking to get back on track.

Dennis Cirkin, who came on as a substitute and played the final 30 minutes against Leicester City, will be vying for a starting spot.

Bradley Dack and Eliezer Mayenda have returned to full training, while Jewison Bennette has returned from international duty.

Tony Mowbray will be missing Adil Aouchiche, who has a minor muscle injury.

Aji Alese, Corry Evans, Timothée Pembélé, and Jay Matete are still out as they recover from injuries.

“I hope I don’t sit here every week moaning about the injuries,” Mowbray said, “but we’ve got some pretty good players out who are on their way back, so it will help us.”

“Dennis played 30 minutes against Leicester, and he helped the balance of the team with a natural left foot playing on the left side of the pitch.”

For Saturday’s game against Norwich City, the Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen is holding a foodbank collection.

The collection will take place from 1:30pm to 3pm.

All donations are welcome, but non-perishable foods with a long shelf life packaged in tins, packets, and boxes are especially appreciated.

The Food Bank’s wish list includes the following items:

Curry and chili sauce from a can
Tinned meatballs, tinned bolognese spaghetti,
Noodles in a pot,
Pasta with sauce
canned fruit
Custard in a can and rice pudding
Tuna tins, carrots, peas, and sweetcorn tins.
The collection point will be on the corner of the parking lot opposite the Roker End cafe.

The Norwich City match is the second of our pre-Christmas collections, with another set for later this year against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 9 December.

Over the past few years, we have helped raise over £100,000 through the Roker Report appeal, and your support will be critical once again in assisting those in our community who are most in need.

Any contribution is greatly appreciated.
