Taiwo Awoniyi of Nottingham Forest has praised Steve Cooper ahead of today’s game against Liverpool. The Reds travel to Anfield looking for their first win in five games.

Awoniyi has been out of action recently due to a groin injury. He could return to the squad today, though the game against Aston Villa next weekend appears more likely.

The 26-year-old is critical to Forest’s success under Cooper. He’s scored 14 goals for the Reds since joining Trentside for £18 million from Union Berlin.

Cooper is lauded by Awoniyi.
The striker will be hoping to return to the pitch soon as Forest desperately seeks a win. He hasn’t played since the 1-1 draw with Brentford, and he won’t be happy about it.

Awoniyi, a former Forest player, returns to Anfield today after giving Ibrahima Konate the runaround last season. It remains to be seen whether he will make the squad.

He was interviewed by Liverpool’s official website ahead of the game. He’s been grilled about Cooper, and he’s glowing about his head coach.

“He’s one of the best coaches I’ve worked under,” he said ahead of the game. The manner in which he conducts himself, the manner in which he speaks to players, and the assurance he exudes.

“We were under a lot of pressure last season, but you could see in his eyes that he always believes, and he knew we’d stay up.” That is what every player expects from their coach. He instills in you the belief that you can truly reach the pinnacle of your career if you are willing to work for him and go for it.”

Awoniyi praises his head coach, and Forest desperately needs him back.
The striker is crucial to how Forest plays. Awoniyi is a striker with a physical presence who brings something different to the Forest squad.

It’s not surprising to hear the player praise Cooper. The head coach has done wonders during his time at Forest, and he is now one of the most respected coaches in the game.

Today’s game is critical for Forest’s head coach. After another summer of spending, going five games without a win isn’t ideal, and the Reds will be hoping Awoniyi can make the squad for today’s game.
