Radu Drăgușin’s agent revealed last week that he has held talks with Newcastle United about a potential deal for the Genoa player.
The Romania international joined the Serie A club on loan from Juventus in 2022, and his contract was extended earlier this year. Several clubs, including the Magpies, have taken notice of his performances.
Fanatik in Romania also spoke with the agent, Florin Manea, who mentioned talks with Newcastle for the defender.
The agent has insisted that the Italian club is willing to profit from his client’s sale after the end of the season.
“Genoa does not want to give him now, but yes in the summer.” You realize it’s a lot of money if they get the price they want. Genoa has stated unequivocally that they want €30 million.
“I don’t believe anyone in Italy would give this amount of €30 million.” I mentioned the Premier League and Newcastle, but they are not the only ones I am talking to; there are several others.”
Other Premier League clubs interested, aside from Eddie Howe’s side, have not been revealed by the representative. Newcastle, on the other hand, appears to have an advantage thanks to their sporting director, Dan Ashworth.
When the latter was at West Bromwich Albion, he signed another Manea client, Gabriel Tamaş, and this deal has helped the agent maintain good ties with the director.
“The director with whom I made [a deal for] Tamaş at West Brom is now at Newcastle.” We’ve known each other since 2009. They are also keeping an eye on him, as are other major clubs in England. There is no official offer yet, but one is on its way. “It will be a pleasant surprise when it arrives,” Manea explained.
