Prediction, Odds, and Picks for the Florida Panthers vs. Detroit Red Wings
With their 38-31 victory over the Commanders, the Eagles improved to 7-1 on the season. As part of a busy 12-game NHL Thursday, the Florida Panthers and the Detroit Red Wings face off in an Atlantic Division game. It is the first of three meetings between the teams this season. Florida will try to close the gap on the Red Wings, who have been on a tear to start the 2023-24 season. The Red Wings (6-3-1) have dropped three of their last four games, while the Panthers (4-3-1) are looking to avenge a loss to the Boston Bruins.
Because either team could win, I’m going with the over on the game total. This game has a lot of firepower, and it could be an exciting matchup because neither team is a defensive leader in the NHL. We should see a lot of goals in this game, thanks to Matthew Tkachuk, Dylan Larkin, and Dylan Larkin. In this one, I’m taking the lead.

Thursday’s Best NHL Prop Bet Picks & Predictions
We have a full slate of NHL action today, with some of the league’s best teams squaring off against one another. Of course, that means we’ve got NHL picks for every game today, but I’ve also identified two player props that I like for these Thursday games. So, without further ado, let us get started.
Alex DeBrincat has more than 2.5 shots on goal (-160).
We’d like to start with the most recent Red Wings offseason acquisition, Alex DeBrincat. Detroit has cooled off since their hot start, losing three of their last four games, and much of that can be attributed to DeBrincat as well. He’s still tied for the NHL lead in goals with nine and is in the top ten in points with ten, but he hasn’t scored one in three games. He has, however, continued to shoot the puck.
DeBrincat has had at least three shots on goal in six of the team’s ten games so far, including three or more in four of his last five. While he hasn’t been able to capitalize on those chances, he remains the Wings’ leading scorer and should be looking for his shot early and often each night. Tonight appears to be one of those nights, so I’ll gladly take DeBrincat to finish with more than 2.5 shots on goal.
