Leicester City must be wary of Leeds United trio Crysencio Summerville, Dan James, and Wilfried Gnonto, according to Enzo Maresca.
Maresca was asked about the threats Daniel Farke’s side will pose during his pre-match press conference ahead of Leeds’ visit to the King Power Stadium on Friday.
Leeds come into the game 14 points behind the Foxes at the top of the table, who have scored 39 points from a possible 42 in a record-breaking start.
Leeds, on the other hand, have begun to hit some decent form of their own in recent weeks, winning four of their last five matches, with their attacking talent really beginning to shine.
Crysencio Summerville has been at the heart of most of that, scoring five goals and assisting three more in October, while Dan James is also starting to prove his worth in Leeds’ lineup.
Leicester should be wary of the Leeds trio, according to Maresca.
Speaking about where Leicester must be ‘careful’ on Friday, Maresca says Summerville, Dan James, and Willy Gnonto’s pace are the major threats his team must deal with.
“We know they are good in transition, but they are not only good in transition,” he said. Summerville, James, and Gnonto are all very quick; we must be cautious. We need more passes than ever before we attack. They will attack quickly if we do not. That is not what we want.”
Summerville and James were both outstanding in last weekend’s 4-1 victory over Huddersfield Town, with the former setting up both of the Welshman’s goals and scoring two himself.
Meanwhile, Gnonto is unlikely to start given the form of the two players ahead of him, but there aren’t many better substitutes in the Championship this season.
If Leeds are to win the game, their attack must click and be as clinical as possible, given the strength of Leicester’s defense and the threats they pose in the final third.
