After Newcastle United’s 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday night, co-owner Jamie Reuben put Arsenal fan Piers Morgan in his place.

Eddie Howe’s side defeated the Gunners thanks to Anthony Gordon’s goal, but the game was fraught with controversy.

It all started with Kai Havertz’s perilous lunge on Sean Longstaff, who was being scythed down by the Newcastle midfielder. The challenge enraged Howe’s players, resulting in yellow cards for Fabian Schar, Gordon, and Longstaff. Yes, we did end up worse off as a result of the incident…

There was also an incident involving Bruno Guimaraes and Jorginho, with Newcastle’s talisman caught in the back of the head with his arm. Bruno’s behavior was stupid, and he was fortunate to escape punishment.

Mikel Arteta was enraged by Newcastle’s goal.
The major controversy arose when Gordon scored the game’s lone goal. There were three different VAR checks after the ball hit the back of the net to determine whether it should have stood. There were claims that the ball was out of play during the buildup, Gabriel was fouled in the box, and Gordon was offside.

However, VAR determined that there was no problem and awarded the goal. It resulted in an embarrassing press conference from Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who demonstrated himself to be a bitter loser.

Jamie Reuben responds to Piers Morgan’s complaint about Arsenal.
Everyone associated with Arsenal, including celebrity fan Piers Morgan, was outraged. He took to X to express his displeasure with Newcastle’s goal.

“So we all just watched the ball go out of play, Gabriel get fouled, and then a clear offside,” he wrote. Nonetheless, VAR awarded Newcastle the goal. Simply pitiful.”

Newcastle co-owner Jamie Reuben responded to Morgan’s message.

He responded by saying: “I think we saw the ball not go out , someone onside and Gabriel going down way to easy but again I would say that.”

Arsenal will continue to whine.
We won’t hear the end of this one for a while. Arteta’s explosive remarks will keep the decision in the public eye.

But it’s great to see Reuben speak up and put Morgan in his place.

As he says, the ball was definitely not out, and no one appeared to be offside. The only questionable aspect is the foul. Arsenal supporters will argue that Gabriel was pushed by Joelinton, while Newcastle supporters will argue that he went down far too easily.

The debate will continue – and Arsenal fans will ensure it – but the fact remains that the goal stood, and Newcastle put Arteta and co in their place. It was breathtaking to watch him and his players perform.
