This is something that no Dodger fan wants to happen.

MLB free agency has begun, and while no signings have yet occurred, the rumors are thick and fast. The Los Angeles Dodgers are primed for a big offseason, whether it’s trading for or signing a superstar (cough, cough, Shohei Ohtani).

Or perhaps both.

There are numerous free agent and trade options available who could significantly assist LA. Cody Bellinger, an old friend and MVP outfielder.

Bellinger is a free agent after spending one season with the Chicago Cubs, where he revitalized his game and reinvigorated his market after being non-tendered the previous year.

Belli is set to sign a massive contract with a club, according to MLB insider Bob Nightengale, and that deal will come from a bitter NL rival eager to spend money.

The Yankees, Cubs, and Giants are the top three favorites to sign the gold glove defender, according to Sportsline.com.

The Yankees are the favorites, with +200 odds, followed by the Cubs at +250 and the detested Red Sox at +400.

Cody is free to go wherever he wants, but seeing him in the hideous orange and black is something I cannot imagine. Farhan Zaidi, the Giants’ president of baseball operations, would no doubt like to reunite with Belli, who was the Dodgers’ general manager from 2014 to 2018.

We wouldn’t be fans, but I’m sure Dodger fans would like to see Belli continue to thrive, just not with the hated Bay Area team.

The 28-year-old will have a lot on his mind, and we’ll keep an eye on where the two-time All-Star ends up.
