Jared Goff and David Montgomery are both up for weekly awards. Vote now to support the Detroit Lions!

Following their impressive performances against the Los Angeles Chargers, both Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff and running back David Montgomery are up for FedEx’s weekly awards. Montgomery is one of three nominees for Ground Player of the Week, while Goff is up for Air Player of the Week.

Goff is likely to have a more difficult time winning the weekly award. The Lions quarterback threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns while completing 69.7% of his passes for a passer rating of 122.4. However, he will face Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith. Here are their stats stacked up against one another.

Jared Goff: 23-of-33, 333 yards (10.1 Y/A), two touchdowns, zero interceptions, 122.4 passer rating, 76.3 QBR
Dak Prescott: 26-of-35, 404 yards (11.5 yards per attempt), 4 touchdowns, 1 interception, 138.3 passer rating, 97.2 QBR
Geno Smith: 31-of-47, 369 yards (7.9 yards per attempt), 2 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, 103.9 passer rating, 50.6 QBR

Montgomery, on the other hand, has a legitimate shot at being named Ground Player of the Week this week. He not only finished the week with the second most rushing yards, but he did so on just 12 carries thanks to this explosive 75-yard touchdown run.

Montgomery will face Texans running back Devin Singletary and Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren. Here’s how their Week 10 statistics compare:

David Montgomery had 12 carries for 116 yards (9.7 YPC) and one touchdown.
Devin Singletary had 30 carries for 150 yards (5.0 YPC) and one touchdown.
Jaylen Warren had 15 carries for 101 yards (6.7 YPC) and one touchdown.

Montgomery, of course, was only one component of the Lions’ rushing attack. Rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs had 14 carries for 77 yards and two touchdowns against the Chargers, making him the only back with two rushing touchdowns in Week 10.
