If David Moyes is fired soon, I believe West Ham United’s owners should appoint one man in particular.

West Ham manager David Moyes is still under intense pressure in his role at the London Stadium, and rumors that he could be fired persist.

However, the Hammers won our last two games, which undoubtedly relieved some of the pressure on the 60-year-old Scot.

However, Moyes’ football style remains a major source of contention among West Ham fans, especially with so many talented players at his disposal.

The Hammers’ fans are growing tired of the football that Moyes serves up on a regular basis, and Michael Carrick has been linked with a replacement.

I believe the West Ham manager deserves far more respect than he is currently receiving. Last season, he led us to our first major championship since 1980, for which I will be eternally grateful.

On the other hand, it’s fair to say that we need a younger, more progressive manager to come into the club if we’re to make genuine progress to the next level.

And, if the Hammers’ owners do decide to fire Moyes anytime soon, I believe there is one obvious candidate for the job at the London Stadium…

If David Moyes is fired, there is only one man for the job.
Ruben Amorim, in my opinion, would be the ideal candidate to take over at the London Stadium from Moyes.

At the beginning of this month, Four Four Two ranked him as the 26th best manager in the world. For comparison, David Moyes was ranked 36th on the list.

When his team is defending, the Sporting manager employs a 3-4-3 system that transforms into a 5-2-3. He likes his side to play a really aggressive high press, and in order to get this to work, his players have to be incredibly fit, physically powerful and highly ‘football intelligent’.

Just look at the problems Sporting caused Arsenal in the Europa League last season to get an idea of the caliber of football that Amorim has his team playing.

The Portuguese manager has only been in charge of Sporting since 2020, and he has only been in charge for six years. He has since transformed the Portuguese giants into one of the most exciting teams to watch in the world of football.

The 38-year-old led Sporting to the 2020/21 league title and the League Cup in the same season. He also won the same cup competition the following year, a trophy he will lead Braga to in the 2019/20 season.

His team is currently second in the Primeira Liga, level on points with league leaders Benfica, having collected 28 points from only 11 games.

Sporting’s football over the last few years has been incredibly enthralling to watch, and Amorim appears to be poised to make the step up to the world’s best league.

If David Moyes is fired, the 38-year-old would be an ideal replacement. Imagine what he could accomplish with the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus, and Jarrod Bowen under his tutelage. That is a very exciting prospect, isn’t it?
