The Bengals’ season took a hit when they announced QB Joe Burrow will miss the rest of the season due to a wrist injury that will require surgery. According to one NFL insider, the offense will not look much different.

According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, head coach Zac Taylor and his staff will not make any changes to the offensive game plan.

“The Cincinnati coaching staff believes [Jake] Browning, who has been with the team since 2021, can operate all facets of the offense and that it won’t have to alter its game planning or play calling with Browning in the game,” Graziano said in a statement.

Some may be surprised because Browning had only attempted one pass in his NFL career prior to his relief appearance in Week 11. Browning, on the other hand, impressed against the Ravens, completing 8-of-14 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Some may believe that the loss of Burrow will make the offense difficult to watch, which may be true. The team still has one of the league’s most talented groups of offensive weapons.

Browning and the Bengals face seven games against teams with a.500 record or better in their remaining schedule. However, Cincinnati has not been officially ruled out.

The Steelers (6-4) are up next, and despite their own issues, they will be difficult to beat.

The former undrafted rookie’s path to the NFL hasn’t been picture-perfect in 2019, but he’s up for the challenge.

“I’ve had to earn everything,” Browning explained to reporters. “I’ve had to battle, and here I am, so let’s go.”
