To identify a suspect in two carjackings that occurred last week, Detroit Police are asking for the public’s assistance.

According to police, the first incident happened at a gas station in the 11500 block of Wyoming on Tuesday at 6:58 a.m. A 41-year-old man was approached by the suspect from behind and asked for change. The suspect left in the victim’s black 2016 Cadillac CTS as the victim was emptying his pockets; the suspect was last seen heading west on Cedarlawn.

At 9:19 on Thursday morning, there was another incident at a gas station located in the 18400 block of James Couzens. A 43-year-old man was approached by the suspect, who requested change from him. The suspect took the victim’s car keys as he was reaching into his pockets for some cash, then drove off in the victim’s blue 2019 BMW in an unidentified direction. The car was located on Friday, according to the police.

Police have described the suspect as a man wearing dark-colored or black North Face pants and jacket.
