When questioned about recent rumors of a January transfer to West Ham United, West Ham target Steven Bergwijn—formerly of Tottenham—replied.

This winter, Hammers manager David Moyes will undoubtedly need to add to his attacking options, and Bergwijn’s versatility would be a huge asset.

We will have very little attacking for the first four or five weeks of the new year because Said Benrahma, Maxwel Cornet, and Mohammed Kudus might be leaving for the AFCON at the beginning of January.

In my opinion, Bergwijn, a former Spurs player, would be a fantastic addition. However, how does he feel about possibly relocating to the London Stadium?

In response to rumors about West Ham, Steven Bergwijn
The Dutchman has been discussing his future at Ajax with reporters.

Fabrizio Romano quoted his response when he was asked directly about a possible winter move to West Ham:

In January 2020, Tottenham acquired him from PSV Eindhoven for an approximate sum of £30 million, which included add-ons (ESPN). Two and a half years later, for £26 million, he left Spurs after failing to make an impression (Sky Sports).

The 26-year-old performed poorly for Tottenham, managing just eight goals and ten assists in 83 games. However, he has performed much better for Ajax, tallying 22 goals and eight assists in just 60 appearances (Transfermarkt).

The 32-cap Holland international can operate at any position along the front line and would provide our attacking play a great deal of variety.

He is an extremely direct runner with tremendous pace. I would be overjoyed if West Ham could sign Steven Bergwijn in January.
