A ‘big boost’ is expected from Hwang Hee-chan to Wolves in the midst of ongoing contract negotiations.

As Hwang Hee-chan moves closer to signing a new contract at Molineux, Wolverhampton Wanderers are expected to receive a “huge boost.” Talking Wolves host Dave Azzopardi explained to GIVEMESPORT why this could be a significant deal both on and off the field.

Despite being shaken by the news a few days prior to the season starting that Julen Lopetegui had decided to resign from the dugout, forcing Gary O’Neil to take over as manager, the South Korea international has been instrumental in the West Midlands team’s successful start.

Additionally, Hwang’s outstanding performances have assisted Wolves in rebounding from the departure of several important players during the summer transfer window, such as Ruben Neves, who took advantage of the riches available in Saudi Arabia by paying £47 million to join Al-Hilal.

In Hwang talks, wanderers are making progress.
The Athletic reports that Wolves are making headway in their attempts to sign Hwang to a new deal, and there’s no doubt that he wants to stay at Molineux longer as he’s been playing well and should be rewarded.

According to the report, the winger, who has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 13 games this season, is happy working under O’Neil’s direction and is likely to sign a contract if his current employers offer him a suitable offer.

Despite having more than 2.5 years left on his £30,000-per-week contract, Wolves are eager to see Hwang sign because of his contributions in the last third of the pitch, which have made him one of the first names on the team sheet.

Neil Moxley, chief sports writer for Sunday People, recently told GIVEMESPORT that it wouldn’t make sense for Wanderers to decide to trade for the 27-year-old now that he’s starting to show promise in the Premier League because he’ll probably still be an important part of O’Neil’s plans.

Leeds United put Wolves to the test earlier this year in the January transfer window when they were still in the top flight, offering £17 million. However, a move to Elland Road never materialized, so Wolves wisely chose not to accept the offer.

O’Neil, who has been in “incredible” form since the change at the Molineux helm, has stated that he hopes internal talks with Hwang and his representatives will come to a positive conclusion.

After initially joining Wolves on loan from Bundesliga team RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021, he made a significant impact in his new environment and a few months later, his switch was made permanent for a fee of £14 million. However, he has only recently found his best form again.

Update from Dave Azzopardi – Hwang Hee-chan
As Wolves look to keep improving under O’Neil’s guidance, Azzopardi thinks signing Hwang to new terms would be a positive move after the player bounced back from a spell in which he was less productive in front of goal.

The host believes that a deal with the former RB Salzburg talisman could help Wanderers develop off the field because he might be a key player in efforts to grow the fan base.
