In Wolves’ match against Arsenal at The Emirates, Jose Sa was substituted off, adding to Gary O’Neil’s already dire injury situation.

Wolves had a few serious injuries going into the match on Saturday, and they will be worried about a fresh possible injury that was suffered against Arsenal in the first half.

In the twenty-third minute, Daniel Bentley took Jose Sa’s place as Wolves withdrew the Portuguese international.

Sa appears to have hurt his back, which will worry Gary O’Neil a great deal on the Wolves bench.

Paul Merson called it a great save that he made when he picked it up.

What is known about the injury sustained by Jose Sa?
Although the extent of Sa’s injury is yet unknown, it was heartening to see that he had left the field, suggesting that it isn’t too serious.

Liam Keen tweeted on X, stating that it appeared to be a back problem for Sa. A little uncomfortable

Nathan Judah expressed a similar thought in a tweet that read, “In evident pain as he walks off, hopefully nothing too serious.”

Paul Merson, who was covering the event for Sky Sports, gave an explanation of what he saw transpiring during the match that resulted in Sa’s withdrawal.

“It’s Sa, the keeper, who emerges and produces an incredible save. Though it appears that Sa is hurt, he makes a fantastic save, and if he had scored, it would have been a world-class play. But Sa is going to go off here. Sa appears to be having trouble with anything on his hip or side right now.

Sa has been a standout for Wolves so far this season, so it will be difficult to miss him. He is essential to this team, so hopefully it’s nothing major and he doesn’t miss much time.

Bentley’s ability to regain the form he displayed at certain stages during the previous season will now be crucial in limiting the potential effects of Sa’s absence.
