Joe Willock, Anthony Gordon, and Martin Dubravka: Newcastle United injury report, dates of return, and pictures
Newcastle United injuries: Before their Champions League match against AC Milan, here’s the latest on Joe Willock, Sven Botman, Martin Dubravka, and the rest of the team.

This is the injury report going into Wednesday’s Champions League group stage encounter between Newcastle United and AC Milan (8 p.m. kickoff).

Three important Newcastle players were absent from the short training session that the media saw on Tuesday morning. Sean Longstaff, Anthony Gordon, and custodian Martin Dubravka were not present throughout the session.

Given Dubravka’s uncertainty and Nick Pope’s shoulder injury, Loris Karius might play in just two league games for the team. The former Liverpool player would be making his first Champions League appearance since losing to Real Madrid 3-1 in the 2018 championship game.

Karius has only played one game for Newcastle, which was in the Carabao Cup final in 2023. His prospective second appearance is crucial for the team as well.

To advance to the Champions League round of 16, Newcastle needs to defeat AC Milan and hope that Paris Saint-Germain loses to Borussia Dortmund. Should PSG triumph, Newcastle would have to make do with Europa League play if they were to receive a result against Milan.

Newcastle will miss the entire season of European football if they lose to Milan. The Magpies enter the match fresh off losses to Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, respectively, by scores of 3-0 and 4-1.

Howe’s team is also dealing with a serious injury issue, as 16 players are either out or questionable for Wednesday night’s game. The current injury list with anticipated return dates is shown below.
