The Philadelphia Phillies’ major league roster is hopeful that this year’s spring training goes much more smoothly than the previous one, when Rhys Hoskins’ ACL injury delivered them a serious setback to their lineup. Because he was recuperating from his own injury and Trea Turner, J.T. Realmuto, and Kyle Schwarber were playing in the World Baseball Classic, Bryce Harper was also unable to take part. The Phillies are looking to start the season much better than they did the last one, with a healthy roster and players in camp.

However, there is a new event that will also highlight many of Philadelphia’s future stars over the course of four days in March called “Spring Breakout.” All Major League Baseball teams will assemble a squad consisting of their best twenty to twenty-five prospects, and they will play exhibition games against other teams in the league. Although these rosters are still pending, many of the Phillies’ talented players may be on their club.

Among these players, Justin Crawford, Aidan Miller, Carlos De La Cruz, and Gabriel Rincones Jr. stand out the most. According to MLB Pipeline, Crawford is the 77th overall player in the minor leagues and Philadelphia’s third-best prospect overall. Before concluding the year in High Single-A, the 19-year-old spent the most of his time at Single-A. In his first full season of professional baseball, he amassed a slash line of.332/.392/.467 with three home runs, 116 hits, 64 RBI, and 47 stolen bases. Miller, who is ranked 90th in the minor leagues and as their No. 4 overall prospect, is another future star. After playing ten games at rookie ball last year, he only played ten at Single-A.

Their No. 6 and No. 9 prospects are De La Cruz and Rincones, respectively. This season, Rincones emerged as a standout performer in the Arizona Fall League, posting a slash line of.293/.426/.463 over 22 games, including two home runs, 14 RBI, and 15 stolen bases. De La Cruz has been steadily moving up the minor league ladder, and in 2024 he might make his MLB debut. On March 16 in Florida, the Phillies will take on the Detroit Tigers in the inaugural game of this event.
