After hitting and assaulting an elderly woman while on bail for stealing a pair of scissors from a liquor store, the sister of an AFL player was taken to jail.
Sally-Anne Powell Due to a string of blatant robberies, Pepper, 23, whose brother Sam plays for Port Adelaide, was given a three-year prison sentence this week at Perth’s District Court.
The West Australian stated that the mother-of-three gave evidence in court about her first offence, which happened in November of last year when she took ten cans of bourbon from a liquor store in Bayswater.
She took the products out of a refrigerator and left the business without paying.
When staff members came racing after, she pulled out a pair of scissors and threatened to stab them.
Powell-Pepper then left the scene, but police soon caught up with her and discovered the liquor, which was worth slightly more than $51, at a bus stop.
In addition, officers found a knife and scissors she was carrying.
Three months later, on January 9, she got into another fight, this time with an elderly woman in an East Perth parking lot.
Powell-Pepper followed the woman to her car and punched her in the head, according to testimony given in court after witnessing her struggle with her purchases.
The woman presented her wallet full of cash when she insisted she give her the handbag.
