The Philadelphia Phillies have an abundance of talent, as evidenced by the conclusion of MLB.com and MLB Network’s Top 10 Right Now series.

The series, which had been going on for a few days, ended with seven Phillies players in the rankings, including five position players and two pitchers. Few clubs had as many ranked players as the Phillies.

Bryce Harper loomed huge in the rankings at first base, his new position. Despite never having played first base consistently over a complete season, Harper was placed second, trailing only Freddie Freeman of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Harper began playing first base following last season’s All-Star Break as he recovered from Tommy John surgery, and the Phillies announced him their 2024 starter in December. Rhys Hoskins, who played the position before tearing his ACL in 2023, has signed with Milwaukee.

Trea Turner, who made his Phillies debut last season, was placed fifth after being first overall the previous year. Corey Seager of the Texas Rangers took the top place.

The rankings are based on data gathered by the MLB Network research team. The rankings were based on previous player performance, a variety of offensive and defensive analytics, and both advanced and traditional data.
