One Aston Villa player might leave Villa Park as early as next week, with Unai Emery not including him in his long-term plans.

NSWE and Monchi waited until late in the January window to recruit most of their new players, including winger Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough, goalkeeper Joe Gauci from Adelaide United, and adolescent Lino Sousa from Arsenal.

The trio joined right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic from Red Star Belgrade as 2024 signings, while there were also a few departures in the Midlands. Finn Azaz and Bertrand Traore left on permanent contracts, while several promising players went out on loan.

On the pitch, Emery’s side defeated Sheffield United 5-0 away on Saturday evening, regaining their place in the Premier League’s top four. Calum Chambers, who was in the squad but did not play on Saturday evening, allegedly refused to leave the club on deadline day despite getting three offers, and a new update on his future has emerged.

According to Football Insider information given by journalist Pete O’Rourke, Chambers could now agree to leave Aston Villa next week after rejecting three Championship offers on deadline.

It is anticipated that Turkish clubs will now look into a move for the 29-year-old, with the window not closing until February 9. According to the source, Chambers has been informed that he is not in Villa manager Emery’s plans, but the details of an exit were not agreed upon late in the January window.

Chambers, who earns £50,000 a week in the Midlands, has made only three appearances this season, all in the Europa Conference League. Ezri Konsa, Clement Lenglet, and Diego Carlos are all ahead of Chambers in the pecking order, while Emery also has Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings, both of whom are injured.

As a result, moving on Chambers in the coming days appears to make sense for everyone involved, and it looks like it’ll be one to watch before Friday.
