The NBA team stated that the Serbian had a heart attack at a private team meal.
“We are profoundly grieved by Dejan’s sudden passing,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr told the team’s website.
“This is a surprising and tragic blow for everyone involved with the Warriors, as well as an extremely difficult moment for his family, friends, and all of us who had the tremendous pleasure of working with him.
“In addition to being an excellent basketball coach, Dejan was one of the most optimistic and lovely people I’ve ever met, bringing joy and light into every day with his enthusiasm and energy.
“We mourn with and for his wife, Natasa, and their two children, Nikola and Masa. Their loss is unimaginable.
Milojevic was in his third season as Warriors coach, and he helped lead the team to the 2022 NBA Championship.
He was previously a standout player for Serbia and an assistant coach for the national team.

The NBA has informed that Friday night’s game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Golden State Warriors has been postponed due to Milojevic’s death.
Golden State’s next game is not until next Wednesday (Thursday early in the UK) at home against the Atlanta Hawks.
