GRANGE, Australia — All eyes will be on Ripper GC’s four members this week. The all-Australian squad, led by reigning Open winner Cameron Smith, will garner the most of the support at The Grange Golf Club.
The question is if this translates into the team’s first triumph.
At 6,946 yards, the par-72 Grange, a composite configuration that essentially uses the back nines of the East and West courses (except for one hole), will not demand a strong power game. The course is fairly tight, and the 2-1/2-inch rough should be a consideration.

1. 4ACES GC. They haven’t won this season and have never won outside the United States. Nonetheless, they sit atop the points standings after three events, with the lowest total stroke average (69.3). Meet the ideal team for playing spoiler this week in front of the pro-Ripper audience.
2. RIPPER GC. They want it very badly. But are they asking too much? The expectations are sky-high, as are the off-course demands. Captain Cameron Smith stated that he and his Australian teammates will need to plan and manage their time in order to adequately prepare. If they pull it off. The party will be amazing.
3. SMASH GC. Brooks Koepka & Co. were disappointed to finish second-place in Orlando, and Chase will improve
4. TORQUE GC. Sebastian Munoz and Mito Pereira, newcomers, have provided four top-8 point finishes for the Orlando winners. Captain Joaquin Niemann has not yet hit full speed, so the team has an additional gear or two.
OTHERS CONSIDERED: HyFlyers GC has three experienced players who can swiftly adjust to unfamiliar courses. Stinger GC is the “other” all-Southern Hemisphere squad, finishing fourth in all three starts this season.
