You know, things happened fast, and the practice went quickly. incredibly, incredibly clean. I was proud of our coaches, staff, and players for truly grasping what we were attempting to accomplish today.

“Not just the execution on the football field, when it came to running our concepts and plays, but also the transitions, you know, it’s new for everyone,” he said. “And I felt the boys did an excellent job. You can sense the desire, you know, through the effort that they put in, and I think it came together nicely.”

DeBoer just finalized his coaching staff by hiring tight ends coach Bryan Ellis, offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic, and outside linebackers coach Christian Robinson.

“We were also able to secure three of the best coaches in the country to round out our group, with the signing of Bryan Ellis, Chris Kapilovic, and Christian Robinson,” DeBoer stated. “Chris is one of the most regarded offensive line coaches in the game, known for recruiting and developing his guys. Christian does an excellent job of developing relationships on both the recruiting trail and in his position room, where he gets the very best out of his players. Ellis is one of the top offensive brains in college football, and he is an excellent fit for our staff.”

DeBoer previously hired offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Nick Sheridan, as well as associate head coach, co-offensive coordinator, and wide receivers coach.

“Nick and JaMarcus are both outstanding coaches, and we are thrilled to have them join us at Alabama,” DeBoer stated. “They have expertise with our offense and understand what we’re trying to do on that side of the ball. They both bring passion and excitement to their job and have demonstrated excellence as teachers and recruiters throughout their careers.”

Former South Alabama head coach Kane Wommack rounds out DeBoer’s core coaching staff, as he will lead the Crimson Tide’s defense moving forward.

“Building a staff is vital to your success as a head coach, and Kane Wommack is an important part of what we are trying to do at Alabama,” DeBoer said. “He is one of the most talented defensive minds in college football. Kane will play a critical role in establishing the culture required to win football games.”
