They attempted to add a budding star, former New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Malcolm Roach, but he signed with the Denver Broncos instead.

Roach went undrafted out of the University of Texas. He has appeared in 25 games over the last two seasons, having spent his entire four-year NFL career with the New Orleans Saints. Roach recorded 64 tackles and one sack over the last two seasons.

Roach, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 290 pounds, has the size and muscle to anchor the middle, and with guys like Nick Chubb and Derrick Henry in the division, the Bengals will need numerous big men in the trenches on defense.

With Reader still undecided about his next team, the Bengals may pursue him even more aggressively now that Roach is on his way to Denver.
