The Phoenix Suns are taking a shot with a former All-Star.

The Suns plan to add veteran guard Isaiah Thomas to a 10-day deal.

IT’s back: Isaiah Thomas, an 11-year veteran and two-time All-Star, is set to sign a 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns, according to sources. Thomas, 35, last appeared in the NBA during the 2021-2022 season. The 5-foot-9 guard just joined the Utah Jazz’s G League team in the hopes of making a return, and he dominated for them.

Thomas averaged 32.5 points per game for his Salt Lake City team, making 25 of 56 three-pointers (44.6%).

Thomas, who was an All-Star with the Boston Celtics in 2015 and 2016, will return to the Suns for his second stint. He also played with the team from 2014 to 2015, before being moved to Boston in February 2015.

The Suns entered play on Saturday with a 39-28 record, ranking sixth in the West. They are hoping Thomas can give them a boost and help them avoid the play-in tournament.
